The Department of Mechanical Engineering, established in 2009, offers both Undergraduate (B.Tech) and Postgraduate (M.Tech) programs. The faculty comprises experienced and highly qualified educators who are deeply involved in innovative research and publications in national and international journals. The department regularly organizes seminars and workshops on advanced topics, fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth. Faculty members also engage in research and consultancy work, enhancing the department’s academic and practical contributions to the field of mechanical engineering.

The department boasts strong Industry-Institute interaction and has conducted numerous short-term courses aimed at working professionals from various industries. This collaboration ensures that students are well-prepared for the demands of the industry. To support academic excellence, the department offers extensive laboratory facilities and hands-on training to its students, covering both traditional mechanical engineering subjects and emerging fields of specialization. The B.Tech program in Mechanical Engineering and the M.Tech program in CAD/CAM are designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the field.

The department’s state-of-the-art facilities include specialized labs such as the CAD/CAM laboratory, heat engines laboratory, automation laboratory, metrology laboratory, heat transfer laboratory, fuel testing laboratory, machine tools laboratory, material science laboratory, vibration laboratory, and industrial engineering laboratory. Additionally, the department houses a sprawling workshop with sections dedicated to machine shop, foundry, smithy, sheet metal, plumbing, welding, fitting, and carpentry. These comprehensive resources ensure that students receive well-rounded training, preparing them for careers in academia, industry, and research.
